I am a marriage and family therapist with a background in sex therapy. My passion is working with relationships and sexuality.

As a result of societal messages, many people grow up confused and ashamed when it comes to sexuality, and many struggle with talking about sex with partners, or don't know where to go for resources to improve their sex lives. Others may fear that their lifestyles will not be accepted. I strive to help everyone achieve sexual fulfillment because I believe it's a healthy and important part of relationships and life in general.

My name is Alyxx S Berg. I am a licensed therapist in the state of Washington. I have been a practicing Mental Health counselor or Chemical Dependency counselor for over 12 years, much longer if you include my decades of work as a residential counselor and paraprofessional. I finally got my Master’s in Counseling from Capella University in 2015, and hope to begin work on a PhD in the near future. My varied life experience slants my attention towards certain people: the underserved in our community. I’m NB, Queer, Kinky, a Gamer/Geek, and a proud member of the Sex Positive and Leather communities. Who are you? Maybe you are one of those things. Maybe you are looking for a person who won’t judge, who will meet you wherever you are right now. Sex Workers are my niche and my favorite clients. My other passion is taking outcasts or misfits and helping create a world of possibilities and joy, not a stifling cage.

We are learning that T/trauma is at the root a majority of suffering. With this, the possibility for healing, freedom, growth grows. Seeking support is the most courageous and resilient action you can take. The stigma about "therapy" being for people that are somehow "weak" or "broken" is rapidly falling apart in light of the truth that weakness and brokenness more often stem from the choice to not seek support. The myths and stigmas surrounding healing ("therapy") are rapidly deteriorating as many come to see that a more joyful life is possible. I am most passionate about working with T/trauma, as I believe it unlocks the possibility of freedom/healing and growth. I am trained in EMDR and use IFS and other modalities as well.

I am an anti-racist, queer, sex and kink-positive therapist and human.

At the core of my philosophy is a deep belief in our ability to heal. Having worked with people with chronic illnesses, HIV/AIDS and Cancer, I know it helps to use our whole being in the healing process; our emotions, creativity, spirituality, and physicality. My work with Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, Motivational Interviewing, and my Creative Writing, especially my work with Tom Spanbauer’s Dangerous Writing, informs our work together.

I have a general practice with adults, and enjoy working with a wide variety of people; this includes individuals living in alternative family configurations, creative artists, activists, anyone affected by HIV/AIDS or in the LGBTQ community. I bring a wide range of creativity, in a strength-based approach, to meet the challenges and goals you are ready to work on.

I love helping people deepen their sexual, emotional, and personal connection to themselves and their partner.

Kristen Knapick, MA, LMHC, psychotherapist

My "specialty" is working with what I like to call "sex and gender outlaws." This is my way of affectionately describing those of us living on the fringes of gender and sexuality, in whatever ways we may do so. This includes, but is not limited to, those who identify as queer, gender variant, kinky, non-monogamous, sex workers, and those who use their services.

I am ready to work with my clients on the issues they present, whether related to sex/gender or not. My greatest interest is in working with you to free yourself to be all you can be. My private practice is on the south end of Capitol Hill, where I offer psychotherapy based on your self-identified issues, not your identity.

Kristen also offers workshops to the Sex Positive community, gives educational talks and seminars to other mental health care providers, and advocates in Olympia for the Sex Positive communities.

I am a licensed mental health counselor, certified sex therapist and group psychotherapist.  I specialize in working with men with “sex addiction.”  These are men that feel their sexual behavior is out of control.  Or men that are concerned about their sexual behavior.  I utilize a sexual health approach.  We focus on managing unwanted sexual impulses as well as creating a vision of sexual health that is consistent with the client's own values.  How can sex therapy help? First, by giving you concrete tools to reduce or eliminate the problematic sexual behaviors. Second, by helping you find a way to enjoy sex that is consistent with who you know yourself to be. Are you interested in enjoying sexuality without shame, fear or guilt?

I offer a combined treatment approach of both individual sex therapy and (optional) outpatient men’s group psychotherapy.  I’m happy to consult on cases with other therapists.  I also offer  sexual health assessments for clients that may be referred by their primary therapists because of “porn addiction,” being labeled a “sex addict”, chronic infidelity or other problematic sexual behaviors.
